Dr. Marcel Lötscher

Dr. Marcel Lötscher, LL.M. MBA studied law at the University of St. Gallen and the University of Bern. His initial professional training saw him complete a commercial banking apprenticeship at a major Swiss bank. He was admitted to the Lucerne bar and continued to study, becoming a Swiss Fund Officer FA/IAF and International Fund Officer FA. Marcel holds a doctoral degree in the field of collective investments. He also holds an Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in company, foundation and trust law awarded by the University of Liechtenstein and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in General Management Competences awarded by the Danube University Krems.
His appointments to various leading positions in the financial sphere include his role as a member of group executive management at a Swiss financial group. In 2012 he was appointed Member of the Executive Board at the Financial Market Authority (FMA) Liechtenstein and Head of Securities and Mar-kets Division (renamed January 1, 2017). The Securities and Markets Unit oversees asset management companies, funds and their management companies and the sector-specific markets regulation. Marcel is involved in various expert groups (SupTech, Financial Innovation, Crypto Assets and ICOs) with respect to financial market law and regulation (inter alia ESMA and IOSCO) and regularly gives speeches on these topics.
